Kantar is looking for individuals with strong analytical and critical skills who can build trust within their finance, human resources, customer service, and operations teams.
Accountants report directly to West African financial managers. This position has primary responsibility for legal and tax reporting, as well as local compliance and administrative coordination. They are also responsible for providing information and analysis to support financial managers and other internal personnel in making decisions with a full understanding of the financial implications. This position requires strong financial and accounting skills, dealing with regulators, leading an accounting team, or experience working in a shared service center.
Key Outcomes
- Review and work with appropriate shared service centers to ensure that all tax and statutory reporting requirements for business unit and country level reporting, including application of WPP and Kantar accounting policies, are met accurately and in a timely manner. confirm.
- Maintain, process, and create month/year-end and close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, journals and related basic schedules. Manage relationships with local financial and regulatory authorities and review monthly, quarterly and annual earnings for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure that administrative compliance and other internal control requirements are in place.
- Responsible for coordinating month-end and quarter-end reporting schedules.
- Manage interactions with auditors and coordinate audit compliance activities and legal approval of accounts.
- Coordinate the preparation of periodic budget drafts, capital plans and forecasts by working closely with financial managers.
- Maintain close relationships with third-party customer/supply partner teams to ensure their needs are met, monitor service delivery and performance, support customer concerns, and resolve performance issues.
- Comply with all corporate, local, state and federal accounting and financial regulations and conduct statutory tax audits.
- Ensure legally required remittances are prepared in a timely manner and paid on time.
- Preparation and review of period-end closing journal entries, general ledger reconciliation and analysis.
Role Requirements
- Higher education, preferably a degree (B.Com, Business, Accounting, Finance).
- Advanced financial qualifications (CPA/ACCA/ACA) preferred. Advanced experience with Microsoft packages such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- At least 6 years of work experience in a service-oriented company is required. Experience in preparing annual accounts and preparing for exams.
- Extensive expertise in statutory accounting
- He has a good knowledge of English and French, can read and write English accurately and can communicate effectively.
- Ability to work in a changing and flexible organization. Willingness to work flexibly across geographic time zones.
