IOM recrute un Assistant administratif et financier

Context

Founded in 1951, the International Organization for Migration (IOM) is the United Nations main agency for migration, working closely with governmental, intergovernmental and non-governmental partners. Under the overall supervision of the Dakar Regional Director (RD). Successful applicants will directly oversee the West and Central Africa Regional Finance and Budget Officer (WCA) and assist in the day-to-day financial and administrative duties of her WCA Regional Office at IOM. 

Responsibilities and accountabilities

  • Provide normal help to the Resources Management Unit and the RRMO withinside the Performance of daily monetary and administrative work.

Required qualifications and experience

Education

  • Have a university degree in business, finance, accounting, management, or a related field from an accredited academic institution and have relevant first-hand work experience, or
  • Having completed a high school education at an accredited educational institution and relevant 4 years of her work experience.
  • Experience in financial management, accounting, budgeting and reporting would be an advantage. IOM is an equal opportunity employer and encourages women to apply.

  • Professional experience in handling SAP modules is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of United Nations and bilateral donor programs.
  • Knowledge of financial rules and regulations. Proven ability to maintain accuracy and confidentiality in job performance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and cross-cultural skills, ability to work independently
  • Ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision
  • Fluency in French and good knowledge of English are mandatory.

Experience

  • Experience in financial management, accounting, budgeting and reporting would be an advantage.
  • Experience with the United Nations system or other multicultural organizations is an advantage.
  • Previous experience working with international humanitarian organizations, non-governmental organizations or government agencies/organizations in a multicultural environment is an advantage.

Skills

  • Knowledge of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of IOM/UN accounting systems, software and procedures as well as common system regulations, policies and procedures would be a distinct advantage.
  • Safe handling of Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email and Outlook. is required.
  • Prior knowledge of the SAP environment is an advantage.
  • Attention to detail, ability to organize paperwork systematically.
  • Cautious, meticulous, customer-oriented, patient, and willing to learn new things.

Languages

  • Fluency in French and a working knowledge of English is mandatory (oral and written).
  • Working knowledge of one additional UN Language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish).
  • Working knowledge locally spoken languages is an advantage.
