The Delivery System for Scale project is IRC’s cross-border initiative to help national ministries of health develop contextualized, evidence- and data-based strategies to scale up treatment for malnutrition. This approach works with leading nutrition experts to provide a high level of technical and strategic support in terms of forecasting, monitoring, supply chain, funding and protocol coordination, while applying the latest in nutrition science to a national We focus on training new recruits for traditional “Supply Advisors”.
Date tools, insights and policies. The project lead, Delivery Systems for Scale, will lead the management of a delivery model for scaling waste disposal, expanding to 13 countries over the next five years. Responsible for driving internal coordination, leading a roster of technical experts, and supporting national consultants, national partners and IRC country teams in scaling up waste management.
This is a highly visible and impactful task that brings together many stakeholders and decision makers from multiple countries to achieve ambitious goals. We are looking for entrepreneurial leaders with experience in scaling malnutrition management programs through the health system, technical expertise and experience in effective and efficient coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Delivery System for Scale initiative.
- Define and maintain a vision and document the lessons learned and results achieved so far in the IRC project Deliver System for Scale.
- Work with relevant internal and external collaborators to develop recommendations and adjustments to design effective initiatives to support national efforts.
- In accordance with the national scale strategy of each country, we will lead the decision on the demand for secondment of domestic delivery consultants to national agencies.
- We develop the terms, scope and coordination of each delivery consultant to ensure effective monitoring and quality support to achieve results.
- Lead the design and implementation of a knowledge management system to capture and share lessons learned across the country.
- Assist business development to identify new funding opportunities to scale projects. He represents IRC at Global Scaling Group meetings and acts as a primary resource for his IRC staff seeking information on projects.
- Promote national strategies to scale up treatment for malnutrition
- Develop a design toolkit and guidance for countries to develop scaling strategies and effective models for implementing waste management.
- Advice on program practices and strategic partnerships based on how best to support, complement and strengthen local systems to scale up waste management.
- Facilitate the development of country-specific scaling-up strategies for waste management.
- Include a roadmap that defines a consistent plan for deploying, sequencing, and optimizing activities across all relevant teams.
- We provide guidance on setting precise scale targets and support technical dietitians in setting ambitious goals that expand program reach and increase capacity transfer and influence to national ministries of health and partners.
Develop Advocacy Strategies that align with National Scaling Strategies
- Support national advocacy staff in new roles, including coordinating strategies for evidence-based policy and practice change in line with national strategic scale plans.
- Provide nutrition expertise to national advocacy staff as needed and identify locations where the IRC can provide additional technical support to national staff.
- Provide recruitment (interviews, recruitment strategies, decision-making) and onboarding support while the advocacy team hires new national advocacy staff.
- They act as the primary link between the registered dietitian and delivery advisor, ensuring alignment with country-specific scaling strategies.
Job Requirements
Education and Work Experience
- University degree in public health or nutrition. 8-10 years of experience in project management and system support is required to expand waste management in the countries where IRC operates.
- Must be an expert in community-based acute malnutrition management (CMAM).
- Proven Skills and Abilities:
- Experience in developing and implementing high-impact projects and research in the nutrition field.
- A keen sense of how to set ambitious but achievable goals and deliver results in nutrition projects.
- An entrepreneurial and creative approach with solid experience in turning ideas into projects and research.
- Gain experience leading multidisciplinary teams in complex matrix structures to successfully build and deliver products, services or service delivery mechanisms.
- Experience implementing successful projects in large organizations and demanding production environments.
- Understanding and engaging with impact, value and growth as key elements of program design and delivery.
- Solid experience in business development and donor/partner management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills: Can foster effective collaboration and create a positive work environment in a multicultural environment.
- Flexible approach to work, proactive and proven creativity: Ability to work productively in remote and team environments, and creative problem solving.
Language Skills: Fluency in English is required. Additional proficiency in French is preferred.
Working Environment
- Standard office work environment (remote work option available)
- Up to 30% travel share possible. Even under the most difficult circumstances, it is necessary to be willing to visit the IRC’s country and field offices.
