Key responsibilities
- Check refrigerated containers (“refrigerated containers”) on board the ship or in the shipyard for any discrepancies between actual configuration and manifest requirements.
- Correct any discrepancies and clear alarms if necessary.
- Repair the broken reefer container at the workshop. This includes diagnosing the problem and determining the necessary repair work.
- Calibrate the cooling water probe and monitor the filling and emptying of the cooling vessel. Reprogram the cooling processor.
- Remove the compressor, open the unit, drain the refrigerant from the unit before servicing, remove the defective part, install the new part, and close the unit.
- Clean the compressor. Conduct and confirm pre-travel testing. If you find any abnormality, please report it to your cooling administrator.
- Record measurements (temperature, humidity, ventilation) for specific reefer containers. Unplug and unplug refrigerated containers in yards, onboard ships, and in PTI areas.
- Assemble and disassemble the unit.
- Ensures that refrigerated containers necessary to perform daily operational activities are available.
- Always follow safety procedures and instructions where applicable.
- Report any unsafe conditions within the refrigerated shelves and PTI areas.
- Sends all requested reports to the affected parts. Email monitoring.
- Inspection and repair of truck air conditioning systems and cargo handling equipment inside trucks.
We are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technology (Bac +2).
- Good knowledge of cooling principles. Ability to work with small hand tools and electronic monitoring equipment.
- Ability to complete data sheets neatly, accurately and completely.
- Conversational English and fluent French are required.
- Knowledge of logistics is an advantage. Knowledge of MS packages.
- Problem-solving, critical thinking, and process analysis skills.
