Medic are hiring a Software Developer in the Ecosystem Team

About the role 

Software developers are product team members of ecosystem teams. They develop key components of the Community Health Toolkit (CHT), the leading open source global asset for digital health and advanced community health systems. One of the ecosystem team’s main focus areas is interoperability with existing digital health standards.

Work directly with application developers and other users of his CHT. This includes developing new features, securing support, fixing bugs, testing applications, and making sure we’re working on our most impactful work. You will work with a globally distributed team and report directly to the Engineering Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development – Contribute to the codebase, write and review code. Follow your development workflow and coding style. We use JavaScript, NodeJS, Angular, CouchDB, Docker, AWS, WebDriverIO as our primary stack and work with digital health standards such as OpenHIE and FHIR. We are looking for people with experience in these or similar technologies.

  • Scaling Support – We actively seek out new technologies and implementations that solve current problems better and more efficiently.
  • Troubleshooting – Prioritize active deployments and provide remote troubleshooting assistance as needed.
  • Documentation – Create technical information, describe processes, clarify interactions when requested, and ensure proper documentation.
  • Mentoring – Support younger team members.

Skills Knowledge and Expertise

  • 2+ years of software development experience and tangible results
  • Experience with one or more programming languages
  • Be fluent in English and have experience using English in a remote work environment. B. Via video and text chat
  • Knowledge of the software development process
  • Ability to work in remote and culturally diverse teams
  • You must have a valid work permit in your country of residence, but no subsidies are required.
