PATH is seeking a Director of Finance who will work closely with the Global Head of Finance, Planning and Analysis (FP&A) and other business leaders to plan and operate budgets for PATH’s programs and business strategies.
The Finance Director is responsible for directing financial planning and budgeting activities for several business areas within PATH. This position reports directly to the Global Head of FP&A and is a valuable advisor to management. Working with departments, he led a small global team of FP&A experts and helped executives across the organization plan budgets and allocate key resources to achieve programmatic or functional goals. Responsible for providing valuable financial analysis to support decision making. The ideal candidate will have strong financial knowledge, a background in strategic financial planning, and a proven track record as a strong business leader. This role provides critical analysis to understand the long-term financial health of a financial institution, taking into account a variety of internal and external factors to ensure financial success.
Responsibilities:
- Manage annual budget and planning processes for some business units, ensure departmental financial reviews, communicate with leadership, and prepare presentation materials as required.
- Develop long-term financial models related to multi-year strategic planning cycles.
- Analyze financial performance against forecasts and plans, investigate deviations, and communicate results and recommendations to leadership.
- Oversees management reporting for some of PATH’s business units.
- Work closely with the Global Head of FP&A to improve the operational efficiency of the department.
- Lead other BFO and organizational projects as needed.
- Refine and align the FP&A business partner model to support the programmatic division and provide a deep understanding of each division’s needs, challenges, and long-term strategic priorities.
- We conduct regularly updated financial forecasts and highlight key challenges and opportunities that impact the achievement of goals.
- Analyze internal and external trends, highlight potential opportunities and challenges, and make recommendations to leaders.
- Manage and develop a small team of FP&A professionals to effectively leverage the world’s financial resources to achieve your goals.
Required Skills and Experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field and at least 10 years of professional experience in finance is required.
- Experience required for a leadership role with progressive responsibility leading a finance team in an established organization. CPA or Master of Business Administration preferred.
- Experience in the global non-profit sector (iNGO) is an advantage. Strong system sense.
- Ability to work closely with the financial systems team to continuously improve the overall budget and application of PATH’s forecasting systems, including driving data structure and integrity.
- Advanced Excel modeling skills and knowledge of other Microsoft Office suite applications such as World, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong business acumen.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including the ability to work under pressure, enable teamwork and collaboration, and have sound judgment to maintain momentum.
- Global mindset with sensitivity to different cultures and workforces and high levels of energy and enthusiasm.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to persuade and influence diverse audiences (individuals, middle management, executives).
- Excellent presentation and storytelling skills. A work permit is required to work in the country of application (Belgium, Switzerland, Senegal, UK, etc.).
