Role Summary
We are looking for a bright individual with a lot of HR expertise working for multinational, intricate, and fast-paced companies.
The position supports and facilitates the Institute’s ability to fulfill its goal as part of TBI Africa’s Operations Division. Operations Teams for People, Legal, Finance, Digital, and Security, as well as Technical and Resilience Teams, make up our organization.
The Division creates and implements procedures and policies that guide our operations, reflect our values, and support our strategic goals. We make sure that we have the organizational skills necessary to handle both present and upcoming issues, and we collaborate closely with every department within the Institute to guarantee that its goals are accomplished.
Key Responsibilities
The HR Advisor will handle end to end people matters with a key focus on the following;
- providing cross-institutional strategic talent management support to the People Business Partner.
- Active management of all human resources procedures, including those involving new hires, contract extensions, departing employees, promotions, secondments, references, probationary evaluations, parental leave, and requests for flexible work schedules
- Offer competent and effective administrative support throughout the employment lifecycle.
- In charge of maintaining the accuracy and timeliness of the data stored in our people management system
- Assistance with the Institute’s recurring and yearly audit requests
- Administration and communication with suppliers: handling invoices and reporting (e.g. OH, EAP, LinkedIn)
- preserving and contributing to our learning and development platform’s content (LinkedIn Learning)
- Assist the People Business Partner with employee relations matters, such as grievances and disciplinary actions.
- Producing scheduled and ad-hoc HR reports from our people management system (Workday)
- Coordinating our onboarding process (e.g. organising inductions and managing our ‘buddy’ programme)
- Lead our people management system data administration – data maintenance, reporting and user configuration
- Administration of various country payroll cycles
- Supporting, and eventually leading on, HR project work and new initiatives
- Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
Person Specification
- Excellent time-management and organizational abilities, as well as prioritization and workload management experience
- Capable of handling competing demands and setting priorities appropriately
- Capable of exercising discretion and maintaining confidentiality when handling private or sensitive information
- Knowledge of employment legislation in West and Central Africa and the function of a contemporary People Team
- Administration or record-keeping experience with a drive for perfection
knowledge of Microsoft programs and a moderate level of proficiency with the Office suite. - It is beneficial to have some understanding of international employment law.
thorough knowledge of HR duties and industry best practices - Outstanding communication skills, both in writing and speaking
- Human resources degree and a related professional credential.
- It is advantageous to be able to communicate both orally and in writing in French and English.
