VSC works in close collaboration with other relevant sections at headquarters, as well as with Regional Offices and Field Units to ensure seamless and consolidated services in accordance with UN Volunteers Conditions of Service, regulations and rules, policies, and internal best practices.
Position Purpose
The Operations Associates National Volunteers managed by the Regional Offices are part of the VSC and report directly to the Operations Associates for Volunteer Recruitment in Bonn. Incumbents assist in identifying and generating relevant quality profiles to meet the needs of UN National Volunteers. He serves multiple countries within a given region and works closely with VSC’s Talent Acquisition team, as well as regional and field offices. She promotes a collaborative, client-focused approach to help maintain quality service delivery and candidate and volunteer satisfaction.
Duties and Responsibilities
Identification of suitable candidates for national UN Volunteer assignments
- Provide identity and recruitment offerings in adherence to installed UN Volunteers Conditions of Service, regulations, and guidelines;
- Verify excellent and consistency of Description of Assignments (DOAs), and offer steerage on designing DOAs to UN host entities, UNV Regional Offices, and Field Units;
- Advertise applicable assignments consistent with installed processes;
- Identify appropriate applicants for country wide UN Volunteer assignments in various regions of understanding and for diverse host entities, as according to company Key
- Performance Indicators, and consistent with DOA necessities and in compliance with UNV Recruitment and Selection policy;
- Check references, achieve applicable clearances, and confirm overall performance value determinations for decided on applicants, making sure they in shape installed requirements of competence and integrity;

Required Skills and Experience
Education
- Secondary education with technical training in human resources, business administration, or related areas;
- University degree in human resources, business or public administration, or related area is desirable but is not a requirement.
Experience
- 6+ years of relevant experience in human resources and/or business administration.
- Alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in a related field and her three years of experience in human resources and/or business administration may be recognized.
- Experience with MS Office 365.
- Knowledge of the United Nations common system or the terms of use of international organizations is an asset.
- Recruitment experience would be an advantage.
- Experience working with web-based management systems is an advantage.
- Experience in volunteer work is an advantage.
Language requirements
- Fluency in English and French;
- Proficiency in another official UN language or in a dominant language in the region would be an asset.
