In this role, you will
Conduct High-Quality Research & Analysis:
- Compile, evaluate, and synthesize quantitative and qualitative information about development financing, innovative finance, inclusive growth, domestic resource mobilization, and economic trends in Africa.
- Keep an eye on developing economic concerns affecting African nations, legislative changes, and international financial reform initiatives.
- Create political economy analyses that are pertinent to the advocacy goals of ONE.
Produce Clear & Impactful Outputs:
- Research reports, talking points, presentations, draft policy briefs, and other documents that support public engagement and advocacy tactics.
- Convert and convey intricate research results into understandable, engaging material for non-technical audiences, such as media, politicians, and civil society partners.
Support Strategic Decision-Making:
- Give the director data-driven insights to direct policy positioning and strategic objectives.
- Participate in the creation of evidence-based suggestions for furthering ONE’s objectives in Africa with regard to development finance, creative finance, domestic resource mobilization, and economic prospects.
Engage & Collaborate:
- To match research with organizational objectives, collaborate closely with ONE’s advocacy teams, global policy professionals, and Africa team.
- As needed, take part in and speak on behalf of ONE at important stakeholder meetings, conferences, and forums.
Track and Communicate Trends:
- Keep abreast with policy, economic, and geopolitical changes in Africa.
- Make sure ONE responds to new possibilities and challenges with flexibility and knowledge.
What we need from you
Essential Skills and Attributes
- Excellent research and analytical abilities, with background in development finance analysis, creative finance, political economy, economics, or domestic resource mobilization.
- the capacity to successfully gather, analyze, and present data using both qualitative and quantitative techniques.
profound knowledge of the economic policy environment in Africa and the associated development issues. - Strong communication abilities both in writing and speaking, with the capacity to create excellent content for a range of audiences.
- Critical thinking abilities and the capacity to tackle difficult problems creatively and rigorously.
self-assurance when presenting research to a variety of stakeholders and speaking in front of an audience. - Excellent teamwork abilities and the capacity to function well in a variety of cultural contexts.
the capacity to meet deadlines, balance several goals, and adjust to shifting conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- a bachelor’s degree in public policy, development studies, economics, or a similar discipline, or experience that is comparable.
- six or more years of experience working with advocacy groups, development institutions, think tanks, or policy research.
- knowledge of innovative finance tools, multilateral development finance systems, domestic resource mobilization tactics, and the global financial architecture.
- familiarity with data visualization tools or statistical software.
