Key responsibilities
- Provide operational security assistance throughout our worldwide reach.
- Throughout the course of our services, support the creation, development, and application of operational procedures, templates, and frameworks pertaining to security that are in line with the security strategy.
- Keep an eye on the security situation in areas that are important to Open Society and advise stakeholders of pertinent information.
- In areas of interest to Open Society teams, such as Global Security & Risk, Program, Global Operations, or leadership groups, prepare regular regional threat intelligence reports.
- Staff members should receive security support, briefings, and direction.
- Serve as the Global Security hub for event and workplace security assistance for all of our African offices.
- As needed, collaborate with Open Society departments and offer early incident response recommendations.
- Contribute to the development and delivery of internal security training programs.
- Support wider Global Security team activities such as needed.
- Work to ensure an integrated approach to security risk management at Open Society
- Promote a common understanding and culture around security at Open Society
The ideal candidate
- a degree that, when paired with your work experience, will sufficiently demonstrate your competence to carry out the main duties and support the growth of the company.
- substantial, pertinent experience in risk management and physical security, along with real-world experience working in complex, high-risk operating situations worldwide.
- the capacity to apply local knowledge to a position that involves dealing with the world.
- A robust network of pertinent security resources and contacts
- Understanding of geopolitical trends and international security
- Proven expertise in creating, refining, and executing operational safety and security plans, procedures, and processes that are suitable and pertinent to the context.
